Common Signs of Dyscalculia

● limited ability to visualize or recognize a small quantity without counting one by one (subitizing)

● not mentally connecting a number with a size or quantity (number sense)

● arithmetic: memorizing and applying math facts is extremely difficult and slow

● difficulty with strategies to work out a numerical question on a number line

● reluctance/limited ability to do word problems and make an estimated guess about the answer

● difficulty with multi-step problems, fractions, decimals, percent and proportional thinking
