About Me

I specialize in working with students with dyslexia, dyscalculia and other learning difficulties. I understand the patience and repetition students need, and also know that they need little ‘brain breaks’ every so often to keep them engaged! We use simultaneous multisensory methods to help integrate new information.

It’s important to me to always be continuing my training in multisensory math to learn more strategies and methods that I can use with my students. Having completed multiple courses with Making Math Real Institute, I utilize Making Math Real based strategies and methods for the elementary grades, times tables, fractions, decimals and prealgebra. I have also completed Multisensory Math 1 and Multisensory Math 2 through ASDEC (Atlantic Seaboard Dyslexia Education Center) with Marilyn Zecher and use many of her multisensory methods as well. I am currently continuing my education with Making Math Real Institute.

We work on filling in the gaps that children have no matter what the age. Due to the fact that math continues to build on previous learning as the child progresses through the grades, it’s important to have a solid foundation and conceptual understanding in all areas.

I have experience using the Barton Reading and Spelling System and am also training in Orton Gillingham methods with the Orton Gillingham Academy at the Associate Level. With the OGA methods, I students are assessed and then lessons are individualized to meet their specific needs.
